AYURVEDA

Ayurveda is rooted in ancient Indian traditions but has become one of the main systems of medicine that has been widely accepted and integrated into healthcare practices globally. Its clinical practice advocates three approaches: bio-cleansing therapy, pacifying therapy, and preventive interventions to remove the underlying cause of the health condition.

Holistic Healing with Ayurveda

Omnia’s approach focuses on detoxification, rebalancing doshas, and preventive measures to restore vitality and promote well-being. Experience relief from inflammatory, autoimmune, or neurological conditions with our tailored treatments.

Various techniques of Ayurveda:

Shirodhara: A therapeutic technique involving the continuous pouring of warm herbal oil onto the forehead, Shirodhara induces deep relaxation, calms the mind, and alleviates stress and anxiety.

Pinda Sweda: This involves applying hot poultices filled with herbal ingredients to the body. Pinda Sweda helps improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and relieve muscle and joint pain.

Vasthi: Vasthi, also known as Ayurvedic enema therapy, involves the administration of herbal decoctions, oils, or pastes through the rectum or vagina. It helps to cleanse the colon, eliminate toxins, and restore balance to the doshas.

Localised Vasthi: Griva/Janu/Prishta/Kati Vasthi are localised therapy that involves creating dam-like structure with a paste made of black gram flour on the specific areas. Warm medicated oil is then poured into this reservoir and allowed to stay for a specific duration.

Abhyanga: Abhyanga is a full-body massage therapy using warm herbal oils. It helps nourish the skin, improve circulation, and relax muscles and joints. Abhyanga promotes overall well-being, relieves stress, and enhances immunity.

Udvartana: Udvartana involves dry herbal powder massage, usually performed in an upward motion. It helps exfoliate the skin, improve lymphatic drainage, and reduce cellulite.

Nasya: Nasya involves the administration of herbal oils or powders through the nasal passages. It helps clear the sinuses, improve respiratory health, and enhance mental clarity.

Diet & Nutritional Advice: Ayurvedic diet and nutritional advice focus on balancing the doshas through appropriate food choices, meal timings, and dietary habits.

Panchakarma: Panchakarma is an extensive detoxification and rejuvenation therapy consisting of five main procedures: Vamana, Virechana, Vasthi, Nasya, and Rakta mokshana. It aims to eliminate deep-seated toxins, restore doshic balance, and revitalise both the body and mind.

The Patient Journey

“Dr Lakshmi has given me a perfect massage after talking me through the whole procedure and answering all my questions about the treatment, diet and maintenance plan. I will definitely go back and I highly recommend that you try the clinic as they have amazing treatments and all their staff are professionals and mainly doctors.”

Yasmina S – December 2023

“Excellent abhyanga massage! Makes the aches and pains disappear. Thank you for wonderful service :)”

Dinky D – October 2023

“It was my first time and I found the experience very relaxing . In the course of treatment Dr Laxmi found out that I had inflammation and made some suggestions to improve my work life balance. I suffer from insomnia having worked night shifts as a nurse in the hospital for many years. I am also in menopause and my joints are so painful that sometimes I have difficulty walking. The full body massage has not also improved my quality of sleep, it also helped with my back and feet and joint problems. I am going to continue these treatments until I feel like myself again. I found Dr Laxmi to be very professional, explaining the treatment every step of the way and even going above and beyond by suggesting a different type of oil to help my inflammation. Nowadays, with all the clinicians going on strike and forgetting the meaning of our job being a Vocation, it’s actually refreshing to find a clinician who really cares for ones Health and Well being. I would definitely recommend this service.

Olive P – September 2023

“I went two weeks ago because I’ve been having backache, and I can’t be more satisfied!!! They are amazing, and really care about my comfort and health, also as I am pregnant I was a bit worried but they could help me with all my worries and doubts. I already had a second full massage and I will keep going every two weeks.”

Johanna C – September 2023

It was very professional consultation and massage. Perfect pressure massage. Next day my back pains are gone!!”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Should I keep oil on body for a long time?2024-02-13T17:04:53+00:00

There is no harm in keeping oil on your skin or hair for a long period of time. However, you can remove the oil immediately after the treatment. We also have a shower facility, if required.

What oils will be used?2024-02-22T12:14:32+00:00

In Ayurveda, sesame oil is considered the queen of all oils because it has active principles that produce health benefits. Cured sesame oil should be used for this purpose, as the heating converts weak antioxidants into a potent antioxidant substance known as sesamol. Moreover, medicated herbal oils are used to treat specific conditions. For example, for arthritic problems, oils containing herbs that are Vata and Kapha-pacifying and have anti-inflammatory properties will be used. For anxiety, herbs possessing adaptogenic action, such as Ashwagandha, will be used.

Should my doctor know?2024-02-22T12:16:41+00:00

If you have been prescribed medication, we recommend that you inform your GP that you are considering Ayurveda therapy. You should continue your regular medication. During the initial consultation, your Ayurveda consultant will advise you of contraindications such as high fever and severe renal and cardiac diseases. You may also be referred to your GP if the Ayurvedic physician treating you recognises a risk during your consultation or even after treatment.

How many Ayurveda sessions will I need?2024-02-22T12:21:25+00:00

Treatment frequency and the number of treatments needed depend on several factors: your constitution, mental state, the severity and duration of the health condition, and lifestyle habits. Occasionally, the pain relief can be felt immediately after treatment, but for lasting and effective results, a minimum of 4–6 treatments are recommended. Chronic conditions usually take longer to resolve than acute conditions.

Does Ayurvedic medicine have side effects?2024-02-22T12:23:42+00:00

There can be a detox effect, which can take the form of mild flu-like symptoms or a rash. This is usually a normal reaction and indicates that the herbs are doing their job. Sometimes the reaction can be stronger, and usually, the practitioner makes an adjustment in the dosage. It is important to make your practitioner aware of any known allergies.
